Derrick Kobina Bonney, popularly known as DKB has “thanked God for the corona virus” explaining that the good side of the outbreak of the virus is that it has exposed the greedy men of God who were hitherto viewed as people with hearts of gold.
DKB was reacting to comments by Pastor Brian Amoateng who claimed that “churches aren’t supposed to provide hand sanitizers to their members”.
In the video, DKB said that he used to admire Pastor Brian Amoateng because of the way he dressed and did a lot of youth outreach programmes however because of the Pastor’s ‘sanitizer’s’ comments he is no longer a fan of him.
Pastor Brian Amoateng had earlier on said that offertories and tithes are given to God for blessings hence the church isn’t under any obligation to provide hand sanitizers.
“We give to God but the money stays with you. Are you God? Why don’t you go and put it in God’s bank account? Or show me God’s momo so that I send Him the money for His approval. Tell God to allow cash out. What is this?” – DKB quizzed.
DKB also wondered why Pastor Brian made such comments when it was on the latter’s profile that he is a philanthropist.
“If you have such a mindset, what kind of philanthropism do you do?” – DKB lashed out.
DKB chastised Pastor Brian for being insensitive and wicked and also lauded the Church of Pentecost for providing 10 vans to be used as public address vehicles to help educate the public on the corona virus.
According to DKB, the Church is the first symbol of hope and sympathy hence must under no circumstance stop doing charitable deeds.
DKB also schooled Pastor Brian, reminding him that because of the church’s role as the first point of charity, it is not taxed.
DKB noted that the church has come under severe criticism since the outbreak of the virus and that such actions by Pastor Brian are further tarnishing the image of the church.
Pastor Brian has since apologized although he did that with a lame justification of his unsavoury ‘hand sanitizer’ comments, citing that; he was taken out of context and was rather explaining to his members how to use a hand sanitizer.
DKB also revealed that he is teaming up with celebrities such as Lydia Forson, James Gardner, KSM, Juliet Asante, Adjetey Annan amongst others to form The Concerned Citizens’ Movement where they’ll donate cash and other items to the less privileged and challenged Pastor Brain to join them with 10,000 pieces of hand sanitizers, nose masks and soaps if he’s really sorry for his insensitive, wicked and selfish comments.
