The media has intensified its fight to ensure that the citizenry consumes our locally made rice. And that campaign has led to some side effects.
Some companies have threatened to boycott certain media houses because to these companies, promoting made in Ghana rice will at the long run affect their profit margin. Indeed, there’s always a price to pay!
However, John Dumelo has enlisted grave reasons why our local rice manufacturers may not be able to sustain production.
John Dumelo observed that the price of imported rice is still cheaper than that of the locally produced one. And the long term effect is that despite the will to purchase made in Ghana rice, the means might not be available.
