Few months ago, it was rumoured that former Finance Minster, Kwabena Duffour’s EIB (Excellence In Broadcasting) company and partner Bola Ray has set its eyes on acquiring GhOne Television, owned by Iyiola Ayoade.
After taking over Power FM to launch Starr FM, EIB eventually also took over Live FM and Choice FM (now Kasapa FM),it has now been confirmed that, the EIB Network, which has broadcaster Nathaniel Kwabena Anokye Adisi, a.k.a Bola Ray as its CEO, has taken over local television station GHOne .
A deal has been reached for ownership of the few-years-old station to change hands.
According to enewsgh.com the deal comes into effect November 1, 2015, making GHOne an official addition to a group that owns other properties in radio, print and online.
We are reliably informed that the station might change the name to Starr Tv, which will have former host of Morning Starr, Kafui Dey as the host the breakfast show on ‘Starr TV’.
EIB Network operates Starr 103.5 FM, Live 91.9 FM, Kasapa 102.3 FM all in Accra, Ultimate FM (Kumasi), Agoo FM (Nkawkaw), and Empire FM (Takoradi). Four new radio stations are going up in Cape Coast, Koforidua, Tamale and Kumasi in the next few months. The media group also owns The Daily Heritage Newspaper.
