Former UEFA President, Michel Platini Arrested In France

Michel Platini has been arrested as part of an investigation into alleged corruption in the bidding process for the 2022 World Cup to be staged in Qatar, according to multiple reports.

Platini, 63 is said to be held in custody at a police station in Nanterres, a suburb of Paris.

According to The Sun, he is said to have being picked up as part of an ongoing enquiry into alleged rigging of the saw votes which saw Qatar earn the rights to host the 2022 World Cup.
