Ghana, a football loving nation with about “thirty million coaches” witnessed a disappointing 0-0 with Cameroon. At the end of the game, there were suggestions/opinions of what Kwesi Appiah should/ shouldn’t have done. More so, a lot of people weren’t happy with the late introduction of Kwabena Owusu who injected some pace and sense of urgency when he came on.

A large section of football loving fans and the media were of the opinion that the substitutions should have happened earlier.

Now to the main event! There seems to be a rife between football loving fans, journalists and coaches – despite not having a coaching license, do fans and journalists have the requisite “technical/tactical know-how” to make suggestions to coaches – or even criticize them?

In the aftermath of the game with Cameroon and the subsequent criticism of Kwesi Appiah, Isaac Opeele Boateng has opined in a tweet sighted by EonlineGh.com that if we have never coached, we should not just criticize over substitution. According to Opeele, a lot of challenges could be encountered which may explain why a substitution(s) is delayed.
See tweet below:

I had contacted the Black Stars at 2am this dawn when most of you the critics were sleeping

If u have never been a coach before, do not just criticise over substitution. A lot of challenges are encountered which u may not know why a sub are sometimes delayed.
